The case for Home Cooking

The case for Home Cooking *
In a world of fast food, frozen meals, and ultra-processed convenience, Homecooked is a call back to something beautifully simple—and radically transformative: the power of cooking at home.
This is more than a food movement. It’s a culinary renaissance.
Rooted in tradition, driven by science, and inspired by culture, Homecooked celebrates the art of preparing meals from scratch, the joy of sharing them, and the profound impact this everyday act has on our health, communities, and planet.
We believe that home cooking is not just about nourishment—it's about connection, ritual, and resilience, and eating together.
Our mission is simple.
To teach and empower home cooks of any skill level to get into the kitchen, overcome the biggest barriers to home cooking—time, self-doubt, burnout, and cost—and begin setting meaningful culinary goals for themselves and their families.
Fresh with the knowledge of culinary coaching from my training through “Culinary Health Education Fundamentals (CHEF) Coaching” — Culinary Medicine course by Harvard Medical School, this movement will feature online Culinary Courses and in-person Cook-Alongs.
And this movement will always be freely accessible because public health is priceless, and sharing food cooked together is the purest form of hospitality.
Whether you’re reheating leftovers or hosting your first dinner for friends and family, the Homecooked Movement and the Culinary Community it is building around the world, will meet you where you are. We believe cooking shouldn’t be intimidating—it should be joyful, sustainable, and deeply personal.
Our vision is a world filled with confident, empowered home cooks—people who cook daily or weekly, who share meals with friends and family, and who find joy, pride, and connection in the food they prepare — cooking and eating the way our grandparents did.
In the Homecooked Movement — “A restaurant-quality dish” isn’t the gold standard—a homecooked dish is. Made with intention, fresh ingredients, and care, it can be every bit as beautiful and aesthetic, and far more meaningful.
